The Instituto Oftalmológico Fernández-Vega receives the special award 2012 by the Marino Gutiérrez-Suárez Foundation and will be accepted by the medical director of the centre, el Prof Luis Fernández-Vega. The award ceremony will take place Friday 22, February at Nuevo Teatro de La Felguera (Asturias).
This award, according to the director of the foundation, Sagrario Fernández Ariznavarreta, puts forward in some way those who do “commendable” jobs in many different areas.
For the foundation, the Institute is a reference throughout the world in relation to the treatment of eye diseases as it has created “a positive and attractive image of Asturias”, an institution that has been investing for over 125 years on research, social support, dissemination of good ophthalmological practices and training professionals.
