Last Friday, a team from the Fundación Fernández-Vega left the Institute to visit the Down Syndrome Association in Asturias to perform 24 exhaustive eye check-ups.
Drs Dagoberto Almánzar and Ignacio Rodríguez Uña and optometrists Pedro Estévez Fernández and Borja Martínez Piquero worked, together with the intensive collaboration of the workers of the Association and the families of the patients, till late at night; they especially detected high astigmatism.
It was the first time that the Fundation worked with these patients; this collaboration is expected to continue in the future.
