NATURAL PRODUCTS AS LEAD THERAPEUTIC AGENTS AGAINST DIABETIC EYE DISEASE

Prestigious professor Mark Petrash, Lecturer and Vice-dean of the Department of Ophthalmology at Colorado University “Rocky Mountain Lions Eye Institute” in Denver (USA), hosts a workshop on therapeutic agents in the treatment of the diabetic retina on October 15 at 15:30 hours in the lecture theatre at Fundación de Investigación Oftalmológica.

It is a research workshop coordinated by Ignacio Alcalde, researcher at the FIO, and will take place in the framework of the program of Continuous Training in Ophthalmology and Eye Sciences of the Institute; Universidad de Oviedo also collaborates.

For his part, Professor Petrash is a great expert in diabetic retina and in the lens; he even served as president of ARVO (Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology).
